A small group of keen bushcarers and conservationists enjoyed an interesting talk from environmental scientist and PhD research Anne Cleary. She took us through research showing the incredible range of benefits that being in nature can deliver for people. These include lower stress, lower blood pressure, and a whole range of other benefits for both physical and mental health. What was particularly interesting is that research is showing that being active in looking after nature is even better! So bushcarers get twice the benefits 🙂
As well as this excellent and informative talk, attendees were also treated to some delicious food and great company. We look forward to our next social night and guest speaker in 2018 and thank Anne for delivering this wonderful talk for us.
